Hello, my name is Ana!

In 2019, I got into Astrology after an unexpected and devastating loss that literally brought me to my knees. The timing of the event felt so eerily fated and coincidental that I couldn’t help but wonder if it was “a transit” as we often hear on social media.

Like many people reeling from grief, I wanted to know WHY. My knowledge of astrology at the time was very basic, but as I went deeper and deeper into a rabbit hole of learning, I came to appreciate fate and free will. Traditional astrology has helped me come to terms with what happened, and it’s changed my relationship with everything in my life that is beyond my control.

Outside of astrology, I'm a designer and dog-mom to a bossy Chiweenie named Frida. I am a vegan for the animals, and the eldest daughter of Mexican immigrants. I'm married to my best friend. She and I grow giant sunflowers in our backyard in Southern California.

Thank you for stopping by! I look forward to working with you.

My formal astrological training:

Essentials to my practice:

  • The cornerstone of my practice is the techniques, history, and cosmology of traditional Medieval Islamicate astrology as presented and taught by Ali Olomi.

  • I only use traditional sign rulerships (Ex: I use Saturn as the ruler of Aquarius instead of Uranus, Mars as the ruler of Mars, instead of Pluto)

  • I do not use the outer planets or any asteroids (Ex: No Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, Chiron, Black Moon Lilith, etc)

  • I only use Ptolemaic aspects: Square, Sextile, Trine, Opposition, and conjunctions.

  • I use Whole Sign Houses for everything and an Alcabitius overlay for certain techniques

  • The foundation of my practice is firmly based on the continuous study of the ancient translated astrological texts of Abu Ma'shar al-Balkhi, Abu Ali al-Khayyat, Ibn Abī Al-Rijāl, Dorotheus of Sidon, Sahl ibn Bishr, Mashallah ibn Athari, Vettius Valens Al-Junawadi, Al-Qabisi, Abd al-Hasan Al-Isfahani, and Ahmad al-Buni.
