Geomancy Example: “Is moving to Europe the right thing to do?”

Relocating to another country is not always easy, but it’s especially difficult when self-doubt creeps in.
My client had earned a spot in a competitive program to continue her studies in another country. While the opportunity was exciting at first and she was thrilled to be selected, she began having second thoughts.
The program required her to complete more paperwork on top of the tight relocation deadline. Everything was moving quickly, and she became overwhelmed. She wanted to see whether Geomancy could confirm whether she should accept her spot in the program or let this go.
(The following reading is shared with client permission)
Question:
“Should I take this opportunity in Europe?”
My Answer:
I did two, back-to-back geomancies for this same question and got an identical outcome both times. A Geomancy question may be cast up to 3 times. When the geomancies corroborate one another, you know you have your answer. I rarely cast the same question more than once; it is not always necessary, but I wanted to show both here for full transparency.
The Judge is the Final Answer:
This judge is Tariq, and it is auspicious! Tariq speaks to a path, a road, “the way to whatever it is you want”. It also signifies actual travel. Since we were asking about significant international travel, I took this to mean that: Yes, my client would be on the right track if she took the opportunity.
The Judge passes through the 2nd and 3rd Houses: (circled in red)
This means her question is somehow tied to her relatives and/or her finances.
The Path of Points in both readings travels to the 5th house of creative pursuits
This tells us that a hidden concern for her is that this program may be at odds with her current creative studies. There is an issue with the nature of the creative work.
We combine the figure of the judge with the figure of the 9th house of travel and education to see what is at play.
On left-hand reading, it gives us Al-Bayad - another auspicious figure indicating “writing, paper, whiteness, clean, blank sheet, spiritual growth. Rejoicing in Motion”.
Similarly, the reading on the right points to Al-Khad, which means: “Pure, clean, beautiful, gain for her. Glad Tidings”
Both speak of gains, of growth, a type of new beginning. This further corroborates the question at hand - the internship, a new chapter in her life in this other country.
We combine the figure of the 9th house with its hidden figure to tell us the hidden or secret motivation behind her question.
On the left, we get Tariq - the same as our Judge. It reinforces the original question about travel and whether this is the right path.
On the right, the hidden figure of the 9th is This gives us Ijtima, which means “contracts, agreements, meetings, and glad joinings.”
Both describe her situation: one speaks to literal travel; the other is the commitment she is making in writing if she accepts this opportunity. Both are weighing heavily on her mind.
The Right Witnesses: Her current state or what has happened already:
The Right Witness is 'Atabe al-Dakhil, which means: “Beginning, inner boundary, internal, joyful beginning”. Initially, she was very excited to learn she had been accepted into the program.
The Left Witnesses: How this will all play out
The Left Witness is Lahyan, which means: “Gladness, joy, happiness, achievement, success, health, victory. Joy of the Heart”. This tells us that if she accepts this opportunity, it will be a success and an achievement. A victory towards her goals and what she wants to do long-term.
What Actually Happened:
She was stunned by how on point the reading was in identifying her hidden anxieties behind her question. The program she was accepted into had a more technical approach to her craft, with less creative freedom. We saw this in the Path of Points going to the 5th house of creative pursuits. One of her main concerns was that she felt she lacked the background to thrive in this more technical environment.
The Judge traveling to the 2nd and 3rd houses was also accurate, in that someone in her family was helping her financially, but she would have to figure out how to support herself once she arrived in the other country. She was already having major imposter syndrome, and this additional financial stress was making her doubt whether she should even go at all.
Both geomancies came to the same conclusions, and both revealed her hidden anxieties. This was enough for her to trust that if Geomancy could see the present situation so clearly, it could also clearly see and tell us what was to come.
Several months later, my client messaged to say she completed her program with high marks! The road was not easy, as new beginnings often aren’t, but she is grateful she went for it.
