May 2026 - When to apply for your next job using Astrology

We have another powerful chart to use in our job search for May, with an angular, domiciled Mercury in its own bound.

Both Mercury AND the Moon are in Gemini together with Venus; both are unbothered by the malefics: Saturn and Mars.

The Election Window

This Virgo-rising chart is for timing when you click “submit” on your job applications.

We’re aiming to submit our most important job applications when the Ascendant degree is within the bound of Mercury. Even though our Go-Time is early in the election, Virgo rising gives us around 2 hours in total to work with.

Below is a game plan to help us get everything submitted during this auspicious time. All times are Pacific Standard (PST).

SUNDAY, MAY 17, 2026

🟡 / 🟢 Prep Time / Go Time: 12:48 PM PST – 1:20 PM PST

The sweet spot we are aiming for is when the Ascendant is at 0º– 6º. This is when the Ascendant first enters the sign and in the bound of Mercury, the angular ruler of Virgo. Since this is fairly early in our election window, I’ve combined our usual prep-time with go-time.

The Ascendant will be within the 7º orb of Mercury during this time.

If you need more time to line everything up for your job applications, you can start setting up earlier, just don’t submit any applications until the Ascendant enters Virgo.

🟠 Wrap It Up: 1:20 PM PST – 3:07 PM PST

During this time frame, the Ascendant will still be in Virgo and within sight of an angular Venus for a good part of it. As long as your Ascendant is in Virgo, in the first whole sign house, you’re still good to keep submitting applications.

🔴 Hard Stop: 3:10 PM PST

Stop before 3:10 PM PST, because the Ascendant will have changed to Libra. Venus, the governor of the horoscope, peregrine in the sign of Gemini in the cadent 9th house. The election window is closed.

Why this election is good for submitting job applications:

  • Virgo rises, and a domiciled Mercury is in Gemini, in the 10th whole sign house of career and public reputation. Mercury is the governor of the horoscope, in its own bound, which means this is a very powerful Mercury. The Ascendant is in the bound of Mercury during “go-time”.

  • Mercury rules Virgo so the entire time the Ascendant is in Virgo during this election is auspicious!

  • The Moon is angular in Gemini and is slowly gaining light as she moves closer to Venus. While neither Venus nor the Moon have much essential dignity (strength) in the sign of Gemini, Mercury is there to host them both, giving them a big boost, as does all 3 being in the 10th house.

  • BOTH Mars and Saturn are out of sight of the Ascendant in the 8th house, and are out of orb by degree in a sextile to Mercury. This makes both Mars and Saturn harmless towards Mercury and the Moon, allowing Mercury to express its full essential nature without corruption.

As you and I continue to look for that right opportunity, navigating rejection, ghosting, and the overwhelm of the world, please know that you are not alone.

Many of us are in this same boat. This is your (and my) gentle reminder that the rejection is not personal. You don’t suck at your job, you ARE qualified to do what you do best.

We are living in very turbulent times, and that often translates to companies either laying people off or implementing hiring freezes. The opportunity that is yours will be yours at the right time in your life. Keep going. We got this! 💯

Sending you love and solidarity, always. —Ana
